DAB – sludge dewatering

DAB – sludge thickening and dewatering

The DAB system for sludge dewatering is based on a simple and effective design which lowers the overall cost of sludge utilization.

A DAB system dewaters all kinds of sludge such as primary, secondary, biological, chemical and even oil sludge. That is why DAB system is widely used in sewage treatment plants, tanneries, sugar refineries and food, pulp and other process plants.

The separated water coming from a DAB is of high quality as there is a 50-90% reduction in particles, a 20-70% reduction in BOD and a 10-30% reduction in phosphorus.

The smallest DAB dewaters 10  m3 and the biggest up to 200 m3/d. When thickening, the capacity is up to 500 m3/d.

A high dewatering level is achieved using a gravimetric mechanism. Dry-matter levels of 12-18% are achieved in municipal sewage plants which is perfectly enough, especially if the dewatered sludge is to be composted or used other way in agriculture.
